Involve! Include! Improve!
After December's first meeting of Involve! Include! Improve! project, we made some decisions on what was going to be the next year action plan on each country. As a start, in January we went to a local school, in Câmara de Lobos, to speak about the Erasmus+ opportunities. We had a very nice meeting with students from different ages and classes. They are part of an extracurricular activity - Euroclub. There, the students usually talk about several european issues, and participate on european contests promoted by European Union. It was the perfect opportunity to introduce them with programme and to talk about our activities and projects. Our EVS volunteers, from project ACTIVO 2.0, were present at that day, so it was a very enriching experience for both sides.
We started by introducing ourselves and speaking about generalities of Erasmus+. Then we focused more on promoting EVS and Youth Exchanges. For that we showed videos from previous participation on YE and TC's and volunteers with the help of a translator, talked about their experience in Madeira island. They were so enthusiastic in hearing the volunteers speaking and teching them some words on their language (Ukrainian and Italian). To finish the session we wanted to show them a little bit of what we experience when we go abroad. How it is to learn in a non-formal environment. Therefore, we did a game that we personally call "Picasso Game". Basically everybody paints each others' faces, but every part of the face is drawn by a different person. The result? A magical and fantastic picture! Everybody enjoyed so much our visit and we eager to do more and more! Movie Nights January 2017 The Shining - 13/1 I Stand Alone - 18/1 The Salt of the Earth - 25/1 FB Events Went & Interested: 15&45 Seiklejate Vennaskond joins Estonian national agency for "Ideas into project" training near Tallinn16/1/2017
We joined training "Ideas into project" organized by Estonian national agency from 13th to 15th January 2017 as advisers. This was a large scale event, there more than 80 participants came together in project teams to put their ideas into project. Event took place in Peetri school, in Rae county (close to Tallinn) and lasted almost 48 hours in a row. We had also made advertisement for our youngsters, and four different teams were the ones whom ideas we helped to develop. Of course, actually we talked to most of teams, and tried to help to develop the ideas so they could be formed and written down in Erasmus+ application form. During the training course, 16 different projects were developed and as we heard, many projects are going to be applied either for February or April deadline. Fingers crossed that they will be approved!
The day started like usually with an energizer. The participants had to do the opposite of what they were being told! Because there were new people, there were used some cards to know each other better. You pick a card and you need to ask the questions which are written on the card to your partner! For the main activities it was used the Compass Book and the activity selected is called “3 Things”. During the activity there were discussions about refugees in Europe and also about Romania and its immigrants. On 11th of January we organized project writing training day in Tartu. During the event we talked about Seiklejate Vennaskond, Erasmus + opportunities and developed several project ideas with different youth groups who joined the event. We discussed the needs for their project ideas, set together SMART objectives and tried to match them with Erasmus + priorities. Feedback was shared to the ideas between different participating groups. We also took a closer look to frequently asked questions (by participants) and in the end introduced opportunities for the volunteers who would like to join in in making international partnerships. Event was very popular, as almost 50 people wanted to join, but due to our capacity, we could register only 35 participants. So for sure, we will repeat the event! :)
Training was facilitated by Heleri and Kristi, and supported by our lovely volunteers/mentors Birgit, Greete, Elen and Mariliis. Training information is available here. On 11th of January European Foundation for Education and Sport carried out a big promotional event. It took place in XXXVII Jarosław Dąbrowski's High School in Warsaw, right in the city center, in one of the best high schools in Warsaw. The Foundation and the project "Involve! Include! Improve!" was represented by Jerzy Szczepańczyk, the President of the Foundation, and two volunteers - Zofia Michalska and Paulina Grzączkowska. Their audience - 58 pupils from 14 to 17 years old - had an introduction to Erasmus+ program, youth exchanges and EVS - European Voluntary Service. We talked about opportunities for Youth, their own experience and plans for the future. Everyone got the leaflets with the information about the project "Involve! Include! Improve!" and the contacts where to apply if you want to know more about Erasmus+, our project or volunteering. Jerzy, Zofia and Paulina shared their own experience. The positive aspect was that some of the students were already working as volunteers and their approach was really enthusiastic. The event was really useful because some students already sent messages about our future projects and they are willing to get more information and to volunteer.Paragraph. Kliknij tutaj, aby edytować.
We made our new, interactive website with a lot of new aspects. Although we had our website already before, new one consists of several new interactive things – all projects that we are involved are published; all interested candidates have to register/create profile and whole application process is made through our website, not through google form as before. Besides that, for each project are selected participants published as well on the website, so whole process became more open, transparent and interested young people can contact each others easier. There is also interactive map of our projects published on the website, plenty of pictures, articles from participants etc. Please check it out – www.adelslovakia.org
