Involve! Include! Improve!
Sharing best practice with international partners in Greece, Rachel visited 2 new partners in Thessonaliki and supported them in completing EVS accreditation and sharing best practice for engaging EVS volunteers in local activities.
On May 14-18 2018, we organized meetings with high school students during which we presented the Erasmus + program. The youth learned about the possibilities offered by the program, how to participate in mobility and also about the idea of the program.
During the meeting, we presented photos and videos from our activities and we talked about the projects which were implemented by our Foundation. Young people were very interested and asked a lot of questions about participation in our projects. Similar meetings were held in four schools with which we cooperate. In the future, we plan further meetings with young people, through which we will infect young people with a passion for traveling, expanding their horizons and learning about new cultures. Thanks to the meetings we organized, we could share our knowledge and experience with young people through the activities under the Erasmus + program. The meetings were also a chance for us to summarize the activities that we undertook as part of the promotion of our KA2 project. On May 12 as part of our strategic partnership project we conducted a street survey!:D The survey was combined with a short presentation of our project and also about the Erasmus + program. In the survey we asked people about their knowledge of non-formal education (e. g. methods). We also asked about the Erasmus + program itself and the knowledge about it. We are very happy that over the years, thanks to the activities of organizations like our, program Erasmus+ is becoming more and more recognisable among the people. People are also becoming more open to educational initiatives undertaken by non-governmental organisations throughout Europe. Results of the survey below.
Usable items from reusable materials!
Cups, bowls, notebooks, flower pots and on the spot application! The event aimed to inform about artistic reusing, to spread ideas about Zero Waste Management. FB Events Went & Interested: 15&35 During the months of March and April, we received 4 new volunteers, from Spain, Slovenia and Georgia. They came with new and fresh ideas to occupy the leisure times of young people and children. Time was approaching to activities, so we invested in raising the competences of our team. As youth workers and leaders, it's important to keep creating new opportunities to develop ourselves and also improve the quality of youth work. The volunteers had some handcraft skills: modelling ballons and making bracelets out of chips' bags, so, we set up a table and did some workshops to teach how to do facepainting, bracelets and modelling ballons. As one of the objectives of the project Include, Involve, Improve is to improve the competences of the youth leader as group leader, we believe that their preparation is essencial to increase the quality of projects we develop, and be more prepared to develop activities in an international context. The activities done in which they applied the obtained knowledge can be easily transferred to other youth workers and leader when attending an international project. During the activities, we also had the chance to promote Erasmus+. Curious to see the final results?! On 25.04-05.05.2018 we participate in the youth exchange "Getting to know each other" in Romania funded under the Erasmus + program. Today we organize workshops for the whole project group about the Erasmus + program. We talked about the main idea of the program and possibilities for young people. Working in small groups we also got to know the details each Key Action of the program. We also had a chance to talk about our project under KA2 and our activities as part of it.
